MARGUERITE ELLEN WIGHT, Redding, Calif.

Services for Marguerite Ellen Wight, 82, Redding, Calif., who died Aug. 6, 1987, at the Shasta Convalescent Hospital at Redding, were held Wednesday, Aug. 12, at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Zona Lautt officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born at Seward, Neb., on June 19, 1905, she was the daughter of Christian Carl and Pearl Erickson Bek. She was a retired teacher in the Madison County schools.

She attended Winterset High School, Iowa State Teacher's College, Iowa State College in Ames and the University of Minnesota. She was a member of the Federated Women's Club; West Star Iowa Methodist Church; Methodist Women's Society for Christian Service and helped found the senior citizen's recreation hall in Winterset.

She was married to George Donald Wight June 19, 1928 in Winterset.

Survivors include daughters, Gwen de la Rosa of El Paso, Texas, Lynne Wayne of Riverside, Calif., and Jean Kelley of Redding, Calif.; brothers, Carl Bek of Winterset and Joe Bek of Boone; a sister, Maxine Bruett of Winterset; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1978, her parents, a brother and sister.
