Luise Foster, Indianola

Luise Foster, 72, of Indianola, died Thursday, January 22, 2004 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2004 at Ochiltree Funeral Service and Aftercare in Winterset, where Pastor Dennis Shepherd will officiate. Visitation was Sunday January 25 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare, where the family was present to receive friends. Burial was in Montpelier Cemetery, Patterson, Iowa, immediately following services Monday. A reception followed at the Patterson United Methodist Church. Luise was born March 14, 1931 in Langfquaid, Germany, the daughter of Max and Henrietta (Jeager) Schmutterer. Her marriage to Charles Foster took place on July 14, 1947 in Austria. To this union four children were born, Richard, Virginia, Charles and Teena. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and farm wife, assisting her husband in the management and operation of the family farm.

She is survived by her children, Richard L. Foster, of Norwalk, Iowa; Virginia Deaton of Des Moines; Charles V. Foster, Jr. of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Teena L. Housman of Winterset; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
