John Denton Foster was born near Winterset, Iowa, May 24th, 1872, and died very suddenly on the streets of Des Moines, Iowa. Over 53 years had been his life on earth.
He was united in marriage to Miss Minna Sheffer, September 4th, 1899. Four children were given to this home, the oldest of whom, Madeline by name, died at 2 years of age. The others are Mrs. LaDena Helton of Des Moines and Lowell and Robert Foster, both living at home. There are also four brothers and two sisters living, G. A. Foster and W. D. Foster, both of Truro, Iowa, A. L. Foster of Denver, Colorado and H. N. Foster of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Minnie Whiting and Mrs. Emma Hubbell, both of Des Moines, Iowa.
Mr. Foster was stricken suddenly on Sunday about five blocks from his home after he had started to go down the street. He was a member of the Modern Woodman of America lodge. Previously in his life he had surrendered himself to Christ and frequently testified that he was ready to go at any time. The Father knows and cares for His own.
Funeral services conducted by Rev. D. J. Shenton were held from the Tidrick funeral home on Wednesday afternoon.
