Mary Margaret DeVault, daughter of John H. and Catherine E. LaPella, was born May 30, 1890 in the Worthington neighborhood of Madison County, Iowa. She passed away at Pasadena, California on October 13, 1968.

She was married to Clarence C. DeVault on February 12, 1914 at Earlham. The family moved from Earlham to Pasadena in 1936 so that Mary could be near her only surviving sister at that time, Mrs. Lora Roseman.

She is survived by her husband Clarence, two daughters: Mrs. Margaret Moore, Hinsdale, Illinois, Mrs. Betty Jean Lambert, San Bernardino, Calif; and one son, Kenneth C. of Pasadena, Calif., also eight grandchildren.

She was a long-time member of the Earlham Chapter No. 294, Order of the Eastern Star. Also a member of St. James Methodist Church, Pasadena, California.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 1968 at St. John Chapel, Stump Mortuary, 60 No. Daisy Ave., Pasadena, with the Rev. Mortimer C. Dean officiating. Interment was at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, California.
