Edwin Dallas Aldrich, son of William and Charity Aldrich was born April 11, 1859 at Pleasantville, Marion county, Iowa and passed away at the Dexter Nursing Home August 19, 1957, at the age of 98 years, four months and eight days.

His early life was spent on a farm near Knoxville, Iowa, where he attended a country school and church at the Pleasanat Ridge church.

He was united in marriage to Viola Jane Ritchey at Carroll, Iowa September 30, 1891. They lived on a farm near Audubon, Iowa for several years and in 1904 moved to a farm north of Earlham. After the death of his wife in 1946, he spent his remaining years with his daughter, Mrs. Harold Cook.

To this union six children were born: Mrs. Bertha Stanley, Mrs. Harold Cook, and Lester of Earlham; Mrs. Gomar Prothero and Everett of Des Moines. One son, Forrest passed away October 15, 1917.

He was a 50 year member of the Stuart Rebekah Lodge and also a member of the Stuart Odd Fellow Lodge.

He leaves to mourn his passing, five children, two sisters, six grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Burial was in the Earlham Cemetery.
