Mrs. Alice Foster Dies at 86 Years

Mrs. Alice A. Foster, a life-time resident of Madison and Union counties, died Wednesday, May 17, at her home in Winterset. She was 86 years of age.

Mrs. Foster was the former Alice Anna Beaumont, daughter of Thomas and Sabina Mackrill Beaumont. She was born near Winterset July 4, 1885. She was married March 12, 1907 to J. Carroll Foster. His death occurred March 13, 1954.

They were parents of a daughter, Mable, but the child died at the age of one and one-half years.

She lived in Peru from 1947 until 1971, when she moved back to Winterset.

She was a member of the Methodist church.

Nearest surviving relative is a sister, Emma Beaumont of Creston.

Funeral services were held Friday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Walter A. Samp of Winterset. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
