Services for Elmer E. Libby, 89, longtime resident of Madison County, who died Dec. 5, 1983, at the Care Center North, will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 8 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Peter Quiring officiating. Burial will be at the Winterset Cemetery.
Born in Greene County, he was the son of William and Susan Rachael Molding Libby. He was a member of the Methodist church and spent most of his life in farming, retiring in 1956.
On Feb. 27, 1917 he was married to Bessie Pearl Kleatsch at Winterset. She died in 1970.
Survivors include a son, Merle of DeSoto; daughters, Helen (Mrs. Clifford) Snuffin of Council Bluffs, and Dorothy (Mrs. James) Morrissey of Winterset, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and six sisters.
