Services for Dorothy Jane Allgeyer, 71, Winterset, who died February 21, 1990, at her residence 410 E. Buchanan, were held at the First United Methodist Church on Fri., Feb. 23. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.
Born in Winterset on June 23, 1918, she was the daughter of Charles and Hazel Rees Barrus. She was the former owner/operator of Allgeyer's Grocery, retiring in 1973.
She was married to Charles "Bud" Allgeyer on June 14, 1945 at Troy, Kan. She was a lifetime resident of Winterset and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Frances L. Thompson of Winterset; brothers, Gene and Charles, both of Cody, Wyo., and Dale of Tucson, Ariz.; sisters, Marjorie Warren of Des Moines, Betty Southwick of Colorado City, Colo., and Ruth Heimke of Greely, Colo.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two sisters.
