Cameron D. Forgy, 81, died Friday, Jan. 16, at Integrated Health Services (formerly Community Care) in Winterset from heart failure.
Cameron was born Sept. 7, 1916 in rural Albia, Iowa, to Albert and Myrta (Hughes) Forgy. On Oct. 29, 1938, he married Dorothy Ness. For several years the couple farmed near Albia. They then relocated to Clarion, Iowa, where Cameron worked at Clarion Produce. They later resided in DeSoto for 18 years, where Cameron was employed by Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Upon retirement, the couple lived in both Earlham and Winterset.
Cameron was a dedicated member of the Adel Masonic Lodge and the DeSoto Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers and son Charles.
He is survived by a son, Ron, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday Jan. 19, at the First United Methodist Church in DeSoto. The Rev. Don Strickler officiated. Interment took place at Penn Center near Earlham.
Arrangements were handled by Kuhn Funeral Homes of Earlham.
