RUSSELL FLOOD DIED WEDNESDAY

World War Veteran Lived In This Community For 17 Years

James Russell Flood of Winterset died last Wednesday, Aug. 30, at Veteran's hospital in Des Moines, after an extended period of failing health. He was 60 years of age.

Mr. Flood was born at Red Oak on Oct. 25, 1900, a son of William and Josie Hulse Flood. He had lived in this community for 17 years.

He had served with the U. S. armed forces during World War II. He was a member of the Christian church at Morton Mills, Iowa.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Josie Flood; three brothers, Warren Flood of Stuart and Woody and Jack Flood of Valley, Nebraska.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Collins Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Robert A. Owens, pastor of the Winterset Christian church. Burial was made in Evergreen cemetery at Red Oak, with military grave side services.
