Isabel Fletcher, Winterset

A family memorial service for Isabel M. Fletcher, 84, was held at Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. David Bauer officiating. Mrs. Fletcher died at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines on February 4, 1993. Burial of the cremains will be later this spring at Garden Grove Cemetery at Garden Grove.

She was born on September 13, 1908, to Howard and Ethel (Arnold) Culver in Garden Grove. She married W. D. (Bud) Fletcher on August 26, 1954 in Adel. She moved from Garden Grove to Winterset the same year. She was a homemaker and a member of P.E.O., the American Legion Auxiliary, the Democratic Club, and the First United Presbyterian Church.

Preceding her in death were her husband, a brother and a sister.

Surviving relatives include three step-sons, A.I. Fletcher of Grants Pass, Ore., Willis Fletcher of Sun City, Ariz., and Paul Fletcher of Sioux City; two step-daughters, Gayla Mills and Ruth Gorman, both of Winterset; a brother, Bill Culver and wife Ruby of Brookings, Ore.; 16 grandchildren including Gayla Robeson of Tucson, Ariz. and Danny Fletcher of Fargo, N.D., who were raised in the Fletcher home, 17 step-great-grandchildren; and two cousins, Pauline Tysseling and husband Babe of Pella, and Deloris Culver of Denver, Col.

Memorial may be sent to the First United Presbyterian Church.
