Death of Mrs. Margaret Hanrahan

Bevington, Special, April 28

Mrs. Margaret Hanrahan of Churchville was found dead in her bed last Thursday morning by her son, who went to her room upon her failure to arise at her customary hour. She had been apparently as well as usual upon retiring the evening before, and her death was a shock to members of the family.

The deceased was born in Crawford township, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Loftus, and has just passed her 70th birthday. She was united in marriage to Wm. Hanrahan 43 years ago, but had been a widow many years. She was the mother of two children; a son, Frank, with whom she lived and a daughter, Catherine, who died in girlhood. Other surviving relatives are one brother, Michael Loftus, of Bevington; two sisters, Mrs. D. Gallagher of Norwalk and Mrs. John Hanrahan of Des Moines; a granddaughter, Miss Marguerite Hanrahan of Churchville.

Funeral services were held at the Church of the Assumption in Churchville and burial was in St. Patrick’s cemetery in Lee township. Rev. P. J. Casey officiated.
