Death of Floyd R. Imes

St. Charles Special, March 1.-

It is with sadness we note the death of Floyd Ralph Imes at his home near St. Charles March 15. He had been critically ill with pneumonia, complicated with asthma, of many years standing. He made a brave fight for his life but all that loving hands and medical skill of both physician and nurse, was of no avail and he passed peacefully to rest. Floyd was 41 years of age.

He was married in 1911 to Miss Nella King. Three sons were born to them, Ralph who will graduate from high school this year, Gerald and Ivyl, all of whom will sadly miss his loving care. He also leaves his aged father and two brothers, Byrl and Roy of this place.

His funeral was held at the Methodist church Wednesday at 2:30 o’clock, Rev. Mitchell preaching the sermon to one of the largest crowds that had been assembled there for many months. The many beautiful flowers mutely testified of the esteem in which the deceased was held. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery, the Masons having charge of the services at the grave.

The following list includes relatives who came to attend the funeral : Mr. and Mrs. Sam Jewett of Anita, Mr. and Mrs. Roland King and son Gene of Adair, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth King of Wyota, H. E. King of Chicago, Rev. C. K. Corkill and family of Paton, Lawrence Powers and children, Mrs. Jane King, Mrs. Milly Rhyno, Miss Bertha Jones, Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ray, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Jones of Winterset, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Willis, A. Willis and Mrs. Stella Willcox of Norwalk, Mrs. Arvalia Attig and son, Forrest, of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schmidt of Oskaloosa and Mr. and Mrs. Packard of Sheldahl.
