Kathryn G. Finney, Winterset

Services for Kathryn G. Finney, 70, Winterset, who died June 7 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital, were held Mon., June 11 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clarence and Rev. Zona Lautt officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born at Churchville on Aug. 28, 1919, she was the daughter of Theodore and Gertrude Kelly Boudewyns. On March 26, 1940 she was married to G. Willard Finney at Greenfield.

Mrs. Finney had lived in Madison County since 1985, coming from Des Moines. She had been a foster parent for many state agencies and was involved in scouting and had held various offices in the PTA. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include sons, Dr. Lawrence of Sioux Falls, S.D., Richard and James, both of Ankeny, Thomas of San Diego, Calif., and Daniel of Winterset; a daughter, Deborah Finney of Des Moines; brothers, Robert Boudewyns of Urbandale, James Boudewyns of Mesa, Ariz. and Thomas Boudewyns of Urbandale; a sister, Nancy Gathercole of Des Moines; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
