GEORGE H. FINNEY SERVICE SATURDAY

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Richards Funeral home for George H. Finney of Jackson township, whose death had occurred Wednesday, Jan. 18, at a Des Moines hospital.

The Rev. Lewis Lint, pastor of the West Star Methodist church, conducted the services. Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery.

Mr. Finney was 68 years of age at his death. He was a prominent farmer in this community for many years. A son of Harlow and Olive VanDusen Finney, he was born in this county April 30, 1892. His active life was spent in farming. He was a member of the West Star Methodist Church.

He was married Nov. 11, 1914 to Irma O. Fenimore, who survives him. He also leaves two sons, Claire D. Finney of Waterloo and G. Willard Finney of Des Moines; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Wes Eivins and Mrs. H. A. Donaldson and a brother, Gail Finney, all of Winterset.

GEORGE FINNEY DIED WEDNESDAY

Death Follows Brief Period Of Illness: Was 68 Years of Age

George H. Finney, member of a well-known Madison county family, died this Wednesday morning at a Des Moines hospital, after a brief illness. He was 68 years of age.

Mr. Finney had been a prominent farmer in Jackson township for many years. He was a son of Harlow and Olive Vandusen Finney and was born in this county April 39, 1892. His life was spent in this county. He was a member of the West Star Methodist church.

He was married Nov. 11, 1914, to Olive Fenimore, who survives him. He also leaves two sons, Clair D. Finney of Winterset and G. Willard Finney of Des Moines; nine grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Wes Eivins and Mrs. H. A. Donaldson, and a brother, Gail Finney all of Winterset.

Funeral services will be held this Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Richards Funeral home in Winterset.
