Graveside services for Donald Wendell Findley, 71, DeQueen, Ark., who died April 8, were held Monday, April 14 at Dallas Center.
He was born on Sept. 4, 1914 in Dunnell, Minn. He was graduated from Grimes High School in 1932.
He was married to Hazel Mash on his birthday in 1939. His farm was located 10 miles southwest of Winterset. He bought it in 1944 and he spent 32 years farming there. In 1979 he and his wife bought a house in DeQueen for a winter home and spent their summers at the farm. Mr. Findley was a member of the Presbyterian church.
He is survived by his wife; children, Julia Willis of San Antonio, Texas, Katherine Laboy of Phoenix, Ariz., Ivan Findley of DeQueen and Donna McCallon of Seattle, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Wayne of Dexter; and two sisters, Arlene Douglas of Whiting, Iowa and Esther Alexander of Punxsutawney, Pa.
