Nellie Irene Field, Winterset

Services for Nellie Irene Field, 90, Winterset, who died Sept. 4 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital, were held Saturday, Sept. 7 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. John Shaull officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born at Cainsville, Mo., July 14, 1895, she was the daughter of Willard and Sarah Overton Hart. She was a self-employed paper hanger and lived in this area for 70 years. She married Ancil "Deacon" Field on April 2, 1916. She was a member of the Zion Baptist Church in rural Cainsville.

Survivors include a son, William of St. Joseph, Mo.; daughters, Madelyn E. Wald of Chicago, Ill.; Sarah C. Hewitt of San Francisco, Calif.; Wilma M. Baker of Des Moines; and Virgie J. Allen of Winterset; sisters, Marie Potter, Kanna Taylor, Josie Thomas, Lelah Hugh, Georgia Yoder, all of Cainsville; and Bronna Gordon of Winterset; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
