Roger G. Fenimore, Mitchellville

Services for Roger G. Fenimore, 65, of Mitchellville, Iowa, were held March 11, 2:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church with burial in Mitchellville Cemetery.

Mr. Fenimore died of a heart ailment at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines on March 8. Born in Ft. Morgan, Colorado, the eldest son of Grover A. and Rae Hoover Fenimore, he grew to manhood on the farm north of Peru, and graduated from Peru High School in 1934. He spent four years in the Air Force during World War II and on June 24, 1944, was united in marriage to Artis Cline of Winterset who survives him.

For the past 36 years he has made his home at Mitchellville where he engaged in farming. The past 15 years he was employed by the Iowa Department of Transportation from which he recently retired.

He was a member of the Mitchellville United Methodist Church, the American Legion and the Farm Bureau.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Carol L. Mathis and Karen D. Davis, both of Des Moines; two sons, Dan K. of Mitchellville and Chris E. of Altoona; two sisters, Jean Porter of near Truro and Susan Hagen of Ft. Worth, Texas; four brothers, Paul of Ephrata, Wash., Jerry K. of Santa Ana, Calif., Bill of Chicago, and J. Doyle of Des Moines, and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, David and a brother, Sidney.
