Vernon Richard Fee, Knoxville

Vernon Richard Fee, 87, a former St. Charles resident, died of a heart ailment at the V.A. Medical Center in Knoxville.

Funeral service were held Friday, July 6, at the St. Charles Parish Church with the Rev. Darold Snow officiating. Masonic services were performed at the visitation held Thursday, July 5. Burial, with military rites, was at St. Charles Cemetery.

Vernon Fee was born Aug. 13, 1913 to Thomas and Katie (Crosby) Fee of St. Charles. A graduate of St. Charles High School, he spent all of his life in the Hanley and St. Charles areas. Vernon had been a Trust Department clerk with the Central National Bank in Des Moines. A Navy veteran of Worl War II, he was a 50-year member of Model Lodge 315 A.F. & A.M. in St. Charles (and had served as a District Lecturer). He also was a member of Mount Olivet White Shrine in Des Moines and the St. Charles Parish Church. Prior to moving to Knoxville, he had been a resident of Country Haven Guest Home of rural Winterset for 12 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

He is survived by an aunt, Marge Robison of Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Charles Parish Church. Funeral arrangements were handled by Kale Funeral Homes of Osceola and Truro.
