Hazel Faux, Des Moines

Services for Hazel Faux, 86, Des Moines, who died Dec. 7 at the Craigmont Care Center, will be held Thursday, Dec. 10, at 1:30 p.m. at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Clarence Lautt officiating. Burial will be at the McGinnis Cemetery in Madison County.

Born at Plover, Iowa on June 30, 1901, she was the daughter of John and Martha Cady Stowell. She was married to Elmer J. Faux on Feb. 17, 1921 at Estherville.

She had lived in Des Moines the past one and a half years, had farmed near Casey for 25 years and lived in Patterson for 20 years. She was a member of the Patterson WSCS, a member of the United Methodist Church at Patterson and had been active in 4-H leadership for many years.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Edwin of Des Moines; daughters, Elsie May Philip of Havelock, Florence MacVey of Rolfe and Doris Kingery of Des Moines; brothers, Dean of Emmetsburg, Fred of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Russell of Swaledale; sisters, Theo. Forsyth of Redwood Falls, Minn., and Ila Faux of Rockaway Beach, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two sisters.
