Death Occurred Wednesday at Home of Son at Guthrie Center
Mrs. Fannie Faux, a life-time resident of Madison County, died last Wednesday, June 15 at the home of a son near Guthrie Center. She was 85 years of age.
Mrs. Faux was the former Fannie Susan Bishop, daughter of Noah and Malissa Bishop. She was born March 13, 1875, near Winterset. She was married to Thomas J. Faux in 1893. They were parents of 11 chiildren. The husband and three children, George, Floyd and Rosie preceded her in death.
Her entire life was spent on the farm in this county except the last 22 years spent living in Winterset.
She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Malissa Handy of Lorimor and Mrs. Mable Cooper of Winterset; six sons, Aaron of Rolfe, Elmer of Casey, Arthur of Des Moines, and Byron, David and Elton of Patterson. She also leaves 46 grandchildren; 88 great-grandchildren; and 12 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Anderson home for funerals, conducted by Charles A. McMurray. Burial was made in the McGinnis cemetery near Patterson.
