Ruth Louise Linn Faust, 100, of Mt. Ayr died Nov. 27, 1998 at Ringgold County Hospital.
Ruth Faust was born Sept. 9, 1898. She married John E. Faust on March 7, 1918. They lived in rural Madison County and Winterset until they moved to Mt. Ayr in 1946. Ruth was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, a Rebekah Lodge member for over 50 years, a Past Noble Grand, a Royal Neighbor, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 50 years and a member of the hospital auxiliary, serving in the Gray Lady organization for over 32 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, four sisters and one grandson.
She is survived by two sons, Dr. Claire E. Faust (wife Hazel) of Mankato, Minn., and Howard Faust (wife Kathy) of Knoxville; one daughter, Kathryn Chartrand of Mt. Ayr; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
