Fred L. Fitzgerald, Booneville

Fred Fitzgerald, 75, of Booneville, passed away January 21, 2004 in the loving arms of his family. He was born in Truro to Fred and Elna Fitzgerald. He lived in Winterset and graduated from Winterset High School. He managed the body shop at Crescent Chevrolet and Betts Cadillac.

Fred lived life to the fullest. He was a great jokester and storyteller.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty; three daughters, Gail (Mark) Flanagan of Adel, LuAnn Harkins (Paul Schafer) of Earlham, Lori (Dale) McNair of Earlham; sons, Greg (Kristy) Fitzgerald and Doug Fitzgerald of Des Moines; a sister, Bonnie McCarthy (Ted) of Des Moines; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

We also want to give special thanks to Mike Barger, PA for being his doctor and a friend to all of us. Also Bert from Mercy Hospice-you were our guiding angel.

The body was cremated and a memorial luncheon gathering was held at the Booneville Methodist Church on Saturday, January 24 at 11 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice, 603 East 12th Street, Des Moines, IA 50309. McCalley Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
