Chad Lee Miller, 27, of Winterset died Feb. 28, 2002, in Independence, Mo.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 5, at the Stuart-Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Kersten officiating. Burial was at East Linn Cemetery, Redfield.

Chad Miller was born June 12, 1974, in Guthrie Center to John C. and Deborah A. (Kunkle) Miller. He spent his childhood in Stuart, graduating from Stuart-Menlo High School in 1992 where he was active in athletics and a member of the National Honor Society. Following his high school graduation, he attended Drake University in Des Moines. On May 3, 1999, he married Dani M. Neighbors in Dallas Center. Chad had worked for Hinkles and McCoy Electrical Contractors and Par Electric, both in Des Moines. At the time of his death, he was a journeyman lineman with Tiedes Line Construction Company of Kansas City, Mo. He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 55 in Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by a son, in infancy, and his paternal grandparents.

He is survived by his wife, Dani, of Winterset; a daughter, Lillian of Winterset; his father and stepmother, John and Sharon Miller of Dexter; his mother and stepfather, Phil and Debbie Padilla of Earlham; a brother, Charles Miller of Stuart; three sisters, Candee Morrison (husband Mike) of Urbandale, Chasity Klink (husband Chris) of Denison and Carrie Miller of Earlham; his maternal grandparents, Don and Ethel Kunkle of Stuart; and his mother-in-law, Kenna Payne of Winterset.
