Ernest L. Eslinger, Winterset

Funeral services for Ernest L. Eslinger, 38, were held Wed. February 26, at 11 a.m. at Collins Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Turner officiating. Mr. Eslinger died February 22 of smoke inhalation from a fire at his residence. A joint service is being held with his wife who died at the same time.

Mr. Eslinger was born in Iowa City May 4, 1953 to Ernest and Arlene Eslinger and married Michelle Batdorf Ehrhardt on August 24, 1990 in Indianola. He was structural foreman for McAnich Construction and had lived in Winterset for four years, coming from Lorimor.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are three sons, Scott of Creston and Jeff and Chris, both of Winterset; and two brothers, Gary of Boone and Jim of Texas.

Burial was at Winterset Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
