COUNCIL GROVE - Merwin Kenneth Eyerly, 82, Council Grove, died Aug. 22, 1991, in a nursing home here. He was born near Winterset, Iowa, and moved to Council Grove in 1974.

Mr. Eyerly worked for the Mobil Oil Co. for 33 years, retiring in 1974. He was a member of the Council Grove United Methodist Church. He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Lucile Pine Eyerly of the home; two daughters, June Johnson, Leonardville, Kan., and Joyce Mosiman, Independence; three sisters, Doris Schulz, Winterset, Marjorie Souder, Rudd, Iowa, and Vivian Williams, Hot Springs, Ark.; and three grandsons. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church; graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Walsbury Cemetery, near Leonardville.

The family suggests contributions to the church or the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association.

Merwin Kenneth "M.K." Eyerly, Council Grove, Kan.

Merwin Kenneth "M.K." Eyerly, 82, died Thurs., Aug. 22 at the Country Club Home in Council Grove, Kan., where he had been a resident since 1984. Funeral services were held August 26 at Council Grove United Methodist Church and graveside services were held the same day at Walsburg Cemetery near Leonardville, Kan.

Born near Winterset, July 10, 1909, he was the son of Loren H. and Emma (McComb) Eyerly. Mr. Eyerly married Lucile Pine May 31, 1936 in Diagonal. He retired from the Mobil Oil Company in 1974 after 33 years of service, was a member of Council Grove United Methodist Church and a past member of the Kiwana's Club.

He is survived by his wife; two daughter, June Johnson of Leonardville, Kan., and Joyce Mosiman of Independence, Mo.; three sisters, Doris Schulz of Winterset; Marjorie Souder of Rudd and Vivian Williams of Hot Springs, Ark.; and three grandsons.
