MRS. FRED EYERLY DIES AFTER FALL

Mrs. Fred Eyerly of Winterset was found dead in the basement of her home here this Wednesday morning. Her death followed a fall down the basement stairs. She was 77 years of age.

Mrs. Eyerly was found about 9 a.m. this Wednesday by a neighbor, Mrs. Raymond Marcks, who had been in the habit of calling on Mrs. Eyerly daily.

Dr. Paul E. Eggleston, county medical examiner, was call to the home. After his investigation, he filed a report that the death resulted from injuries received in the fall down the basement stairs.

Mrs. Eyerly was the widow of Fred Eyerly, whose death occurred two months ago, on Jan. 31.

Funeral arrangements are being made by the Wilson Funeral home in Winterset.

EYERLY SERVICE HELD ON FRIDAY

Life-Long Resident of This County Was 73 Years Of Age

Funeral services were held Friday from the First Methodist church of Winterset for Mrs. Fred Eyerly, whose death occurred Wednesday, April 7, at her home in Winterset. The Rev. John Porath, pastor of the church, conducted the services. Burial was made in the Roberts cemetery west of Winterset.

Mrs. Eyerly was 73 years of age at her death. She was the former Nona Pearl Givan, daughter of William and Carrie Whitworth Givan, and was born in Madison county April 3, 1892. Her entire life was spent in this county.

In 1910 she was married to Frank Crow. He preceded her in death and in 1923 she was married to Fred Eyerly. His death occurred in January of this year.

She was a long-time member of the Methodist church. For a number of years, she and her husband both served as justices of the peace in Winterset.

She is survived by two sons, Wade L. Crow of Greeley, Colo., and Eugene W. Crow of Gore, Va.; a daughter, Mrs. Paul Thompson of Des Moines; four stepchildren, Frank Eyerly of Basehor, Kan., Ryman Eyerly and Gene Eyerly of Denver, Colo., and Donald Eyerly of Winterset; 17 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and a brother, Roscoe Givan of St. Charles. She was preceded in death by one son, Russell Crow and a step-son, Wilbur Eyerly.
