Services for Loren Eyerly

A retired farmer who spent his lifetime in Madison County, Loren H. Eyerly, died Sunday, November 23, 1975 at Madison Manor South in Winterset. He was 89 years old, the son of George Washington Eyerly and Martha Angeline Howell.

Mr. Eyerly was born December 18, 1885 in Madison County and made his residence for many years in Jackson Township. He was married to Emma Caroline McComb on March 18, 1908 in Winterset. She preceded him in death December 16, 1969.

Mr. Eyerly was affiliated with the Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Merwin Eyerly of Council Grove, Kansas; four daughters, Mrs. Ray (Doris) Schultz of Winterset, Mrs. Ralph (Marjorie) Sonder of Rudd, Iowa, Mrs. Roger (Vivian) Williams of Kerrville, Texas and Mrs. Earl (Virginia) Price of Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania.

Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, five brothers, Emerson of Winterset, Howard of Brighton, Colorado, Hugh of Chicago, Illinois and Lloyd and Samuel of Des Moines, and two sisters, Mrs. Beulah Thomas and Mrs. Mabel Shoemaker.

Besides his wife, Mrs. Eyerly was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Carrol, ten brothers, two sisters, one grandson and two great grandsons.

Funeral services for Loren Eyerly were conducted Wednesday, November 26, 1975 at 1:30 p.m. from the First United Methodist Church in Winterset, the Rev. Paul Bousfield officiating. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
