ERNEST DURBIN OF PERU DIED FRIDAY

Peru Resident Since 1955 Dies at Age of 62 Years

Ernest E. Durbin of Peru died Friday, Jan. 6 at the Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset of a cerebral hemmorrhage. He was 62 years of age.

Born in Marquisville, Mr. Durand lived most of his active life in Des Moines, where he was employed by th Marquette Cement company for 21 years before working for the building and grounds department of the Des Moines school district. He moved to Peru in 1955, where he farmed for three years before retiring in 1958 because of ill health.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Helen Durbin of Peru; three daughters, Mrs. Erma Speck, Mrs. Audrey Putney and Mrs. Lucille Kissell, all of Des Moines; a son, Robert Durbin of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a brother, Elmer Durbin of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held in Des Moines Monday with burial in Glendale cemetery there.
