Curtis E. Dowler, Boone

Services for Curtis E. Dowler, 82, Boone, formerly of Des Moines, who died of pneumonia Friday, Feb. 15, at the Boone County Hospital, were held Monday, Feb. 17, at Highland Park Christian Church. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery.

Mr. Dowler was born in Peru, the son of Wood and Inez Travis Dowler. He was a retired coin machine mechanic and was internationallly recognized as an expert in the restoration of juke boxes. He had operated a cafe in Winterset while he lived here in the 1940s.

He had lived in Des Moines most of his life and was a member of the Highland Park Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge Auburn Chapter.

Survivors include his wife, Rachel; and a sister, Lucille Tolles of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clark, of Winterset.
