October 9, 1963RAY WITT Dies at Hospital
Ray Witt, well-known resident of the Macksburg community, died last Friday, Oct. 4, 1963, at Memorial hospital in Wintersest, following a heart attack. He was 66 years of age.
Mr. Witt was born in Webster township Dec. 23, 1896, a son of Otho and Mary Johnston Witt. His life was spent in farming in Madison and Union counties.
He was married May 7, 1926, to Ferne Hower, who survives him. He was a member of the Masonic lodge at Orient, and the Oak Grove E.U.B. church.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Betty Donnellan of Santa Cruz, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Letha Pindell of Creston; and two brothers, Arch Witt of Lorimor and Ora Witt of Macksburg.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Macksburg Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. Donald Howard and the Rev. Donald Frank.
Burial was made in Moon cemetery at Macksburg.
