Services for Charles Witham, 82, Adel, who died Sunday, Aug. 12 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center, were held Wednesday afternoon at the First Christian Church in Adel. Burial was in the Waukee Cemetery.
Born in Clive Sept, 28, 1901, he was the son of J. W. and Jennie Witham. His early life was spent farming for Mr. and Mrs. Will Brown near Waukee where he also made his home.
In 1939, he married Martha Bonker of Panora. He was a member of the Oak Grove Evangelical Church in Winterset and lived in the Winterset area for several years.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Kenneth of Chehalis, Wash., and Wallace of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Shirlee Wolfe of Waukee; a sister, Edith Boren of Rolla, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
