Death of Robert S. Arthur

Funeral services for Robert S. Arthur were held Saturday afternoon at the Tidrick funeral home, conducted by Rev. A. P. Keast of the Methodist church. Mr. Arthur had been ill but a short time and death was caused by a ruptured appendix.

He was born in Winterset in 1890. His life was spent at Omaha where he was a merchandise broker. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Arthur of Omaha. Mrs. Arthur is a sister of Mrs. Charles Koser, Mrs. Myles Young, jr., Mrs. Fred Mardis, Mrs. Mary Couch and W. S. Snyder of this city.

He is survived by his parents, wife and step-son. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Omaha at 10 o’clock and the body brought to Winterset for burial.

Mr. Arthur had many friends in Winterset – he had visited here with his parents, nearly every summer. He was a World war veteran and members of the American Legion served as pall bearers. Many Omaha friends and relatives accompanied the body here.
