Olive Easter Dodson, Florida

Olive Easter Dodson died Jan. 24 at the age of 85 years at Indian River Memorial Hospital at Vero Beach, Florida. Born March 24, 1896, Jackson Township, Madison County, she was the daughter of Josiah and Emma Ford Easter.

She attended Winterset High School and Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls, She taught school in Iowa for several years.

On June 26, 1926 she was married to Earle Lewis Dodson of Washington, D.C. They lived in Chevy Chase and Bethesda, Maryland. She was a homemaker, member of Chevy Chase Methodist Church, Director of Methodist Home, Washington D.C., Director of Y.M.C.A. of Bethesda, Maryland and a former member of Eastern Star. They moved to Royal Palm Convalescent Center, Vero Beach, Florida 1-1/2 years ago.

Survivors include husband, Earle Lewis Dodson of Vero Beach, Florida; a son, Wilmer Lewis Dodson of Ft. Pierce, Florida and a daughter, Miriam Stansbury of Morristown, New Jersey; a brother, William Ford Easter of Winterset; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, Lenna Easter, Ada McCorkle, Mildred Benjamin, Grace Frazier, Kate Easter, Rachel Easter and two brothers, Ersie Easter and Frank Easter.

Interment will take place in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
