November 1999Funeral mass for Kaye L. Hopkins was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, at St. John's Catholic Church of Adel. She died Saturday, Nov 6, of heart failure at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry at the age of 51.
Officiating the mass was Father Richard Gubbles and Deacon Dennis Luft. Shannon Bunnell was pianist, and Mary Smith was soloist.
Pallbearers were Monte Hopkins, Matt Hopkins, Adam Hopkins, Preston Hopkins, Jason Miller, Dennis Hoover, Tim Trenkamp, Ted Trenkamp, Andrew Smith, Patrick Clem, and Michael Raibikis. Burial was at Oakdale Cemetery at Adel, and Kuhn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Kaye Lorraine Hopkins was born the daughter of Duane and Eugenia (Raibikis) Hopkins on Aug. 18, 1948 in Dexter. She attended the Earlham Public Schools.
Kaye leaves the following family to celebrate her life: mother Jeanne Hopkins of Earlham; sister Connie Trenkamp and Tim and Ted of Des Moines; sister Carol Eisenbraun and husband Helm of Nevada, Mo.; sister Nancy Miller and husband Malcolm of Ames; brother Ed Hopkins and friend Shelley Graham of Earlham; brother Chris and wife Kathy of Earlham; brother John and wife Theresa of Earlham; nieces and nephews; Tim Hopkins, Ted Hopkins, Kristin and Andrew Smith, Monte and Trish Hopkins and children Denton and Canyon, Matt and Penny Hopkins and Madison, Adam and Jackie Hopkins, Alissa Hopkins, Jessica and Patrick Clem, Jason and Stephanie Miller, Maggie and Grace Hopkins, Betsy Hopkins, Molly Hopkins, Melanie Hopkins, Preston Hopkins, Brooke Hopkins, Johnny Hopkins, Ian Hopkins, and Travis Hopkins, as well as many friends.
