Lessly Gregg, 78, died of a respiratory ailment Oct. 11, 1999, at USA Healthcare in Earlham.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15, at Fisher Funeral Home in Adel. Burial will be at West Linn Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, with the family present from 6-8 p.m.

Lessly Gregg was born Aug. 11, 1921, to John and Hattie Gregg of Paris, Mo. A resident of Earlham for 10 years, he previously lived in Adel. A World War II veteran, he was retired from United Brick and Tile in Adel. Lessly was a member of the Adel American Legion and Adel V.F.W.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rose (Lowden) Gregg; and a daughter.

He is survived by a sister, Vera Chabelka of Panora, and several nieces and nephews.
