RICHARD DIXON DIES IN VIETNAM

Richard Dixon, Sp. 4 U.S. army, was killed in Vietnam Thursday, Jan. 16, while serving with the U.S. armed forces. He was 20 years of age.

The young soldier was a former resident of St. Charles and attended Interstate 35 High School. He moved with his parents to Illinois, where he enlisted in the U.S. army on March 21, 1968. His parents Mr. and Mrs. Emil Dixon, now live in Des Moines.

Richard Dixon was born at Creston July 15, 1948, a son of Emil and Katherine DeBord Dixon.

In addition to his parents, he leaves two brothers, Leo, at home, and Michael, who is serving in the U.S. Air Force in Thailand; and a sister, Gloria at home.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the St. Charles Methodist church in charge of the pastor, the Rev. James N. Louk. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery with military ritual at grave-side by the Winterset post of the American Legion.
