Jay E. Wineinger of near Lorimor died Wednesday, Feb. 26, at Memorial Hospital in Winterset. He was 70 years of age.
Mr. Wineinger was born in Taylor county, near Blockton, on Aug. 18, 1893. His early life was spent in that community. He was married at Mt. Ayr July 5, 1915, to Grace Walter. They lived on farms in Union and Madison counties until her death in 1942.
His second marriage occurred in 1946 to Meryl Jones. They had been living on a farm north of Lorimor.
Mr. Wineinger is survived by his wife; two daughters by his first marriage, Mrs. Paula Roan of Dallas Center and Mrs. Merl Kerns of Macksburg; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; a stepdaughter, Mrs. LaVon Newhouse of Hungry Horse, Mont., three stepsons, Dwain Jones of Bondurant, Gerald Jones of Fresno, Calif., and Donald Jones of Leon; and three sisters, Mrs. Rose Reynolds of Adel, Mrs. Lorinda Church of Redding, Calif., and Mrs. Dora Spicer of Detroit.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Lorimor Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Frank. Burial was made in the Lorimor cemetery.
