Estella DeVault Services Held

A long time resident of Madison County, Estella Ellen DeVault died Friday, July 15, 1977, at the age of 75. The daughter of Harrison Franklin and Sadie Reynolds Fox, Mrs. DeVault was born July 3, 1902 in Sattuck, Oklahoma.

On February 21, 1922, she married Orla DeVault in Madison County. A housewife and a cook at the Madison County Memorial Hospital from 1949 to 1964, Mrs. DeVault was a member of the Pitzer Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Ted (Geraldine) Lenocker of Dexter and Mrs. Dalton (Mina Jane) Slater of Winterset; and five grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Claude Fox of Greenfield and Lloyd Fox of Pueblo, Colorado; and three sisters, Florence Gilbert of Greenfield, Vera Harper and Ruth Bruett, both of Winterset.

Services for Mrs. DeVault were conducted by Rev. Jerry Evelsizer, Monday, July 18th at Collins Funeral Home. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.

Obituary

Estella Ellen DeVault, 75, passed away July 15 at Villa West Care Center in Winterset. The daughter of Harrison Franklin and Sadie Reynolds Fox, she was born on July 3, 1902 in Shattuck, Oklahoma. She had made her home in Madison county since 1905.

She was united in marriage to Orla DeVault on February 21, 1922. They were the parents of two daughters—Geraldine (Mrs. Ted) Lenocker of rural Dexter, and Mina Jean (Mrs. Dalton) Slater of Winterset—both of whom survive, as well as her husband.

Mrs. DeVault was employed as a cook at Madison County Memorial hospital in Winterset from 1949 to 1964.

Other survivors include five grandchildren; two brothers—Claude Fox of Greenfield and Lloyd Fox of Pueblo, Colorado; three sisters—Vera Harper and Ruth Bruett of Winterset and Florence Gilbert of Greenfield.

Services were held Monday morning, July 18, at the Collins Funeral Home with pastor of Pitzer Presbyterian church, the Rev. Jerry Evelsizer, officiating. Burial was in the Winterset cemetery.
