Gyle DeVault, Winterset

Services for Gyle DeVault, 79, Winterset, who died June 18 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center, were held at the Collins Funeral Home on June 21 with the Rev. Doris Kinton officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born in Wayne County on Nov. 25, 1908, he was the son of Charles and Carrie Crow DeVault. He was a retired cat operator for road constructiion and spent most of his lifetime in Madison county.

Mr. DeVault was married to Margaret Bruett on Dec. 29, 1931 in Missouri and was a member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard of Winterset; a daughter, Betty Leeper of Winterset; a brother, Orla DeVault of Winterset; a sister, Reva Duff of Leon; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
