Carroll George Denton, Winterset

Carroll George Denton, 91, died of complications of Alzheimer's disease Friday, Jan. 30, at Community Care Center/IHS in Winterset.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, at the First Christian Church in Winterset with the Rev. Marc Rucklos officiating. Burial was in Lorimor Cemetery.

Carroll Centon was born Sept. 3, 1906 in Madison County to Charles Leonard and Nellie Mae Cook Denton. He married Ada Elizabeth Means June 27, 1931 in Mt. Ayr. He was a retired farmer who worked for Circle B. Cashway.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and a great-grandson.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Joyce (husband Jim) Young of Atlantic; one sister, Helen Caldwell of Creston; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. Memorials may be made to Community Care Center/IHS or Middle River Hospice.
