Lyman Ray Denney, Winterset

Services for Lyman Ray Denney, 97, Winterset, who died Feb. 11 at the Madison County Hospital will be held Thursday, Feb. 14 at the First United Methodist Church at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Byron Ayers and the Rev. Charlie Morrow officiating. Burial will be at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born in Madison County Feb. 17, 1887, he was the son of James and Sarah Brown Denney. On Feb. 18, 1914, he was married to Floy Cynthia Smith in Madison County.

Mr. Denney spent most of his life in Adair and Madison counties and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.

Survivors include daughters, Lois (Mrs. Gene) Smith of rural Lorimor, and Arlene (Mrs. Howard) Smith of rural Earlham; five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two sisters.
