Floy Cynthia Denney, Winterset

Services for Floy Cynthia Denney, 90, Winterset, who died Dec. 19 at the Madison County Hospital were held Wednesday morning, Dec. 21 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born in Madison County on Sept. 8, 1893, she was the daughter of Thomas and Clara Jane Weeks Smith. She married Lyman Ray Denney on Feb. 18, 1914 and spent most of her life as a homemaker, living in Madison and Adair counties. She was a member of the United Methodist church in Winterset.

Survivors include her husband; daughters, Lois Smith of rural Lorimor and Arlene Smith or rural Earlham; five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
