2000Ethel Naomi Henry, 91, of Winterset died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000 at the IHS Care Center in Winterset following a brief illness.
Services were held Oct. 21 at Early Chapel Church in rural Earlham. Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery.
Ethel N. Henry was born Dec. 3, 1908 to Alvin and Laura Butler Johnson at the family farm near Casper, Wyo. She married Orville Henry on Sept. 10, 1926 in Osceola. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1976.
She was a member of the Early Chapel Church. She loved to cook. She loved to garden and was especially fond of her baby pigs and calves.
She was a 45 year member of the Rebekah Lodge #233 of Earlham, and held every office and chair within. She collected newspaper clippings and filled scrap books to give to family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville; a daughter, Ruth Stork; a granddaughter; one brother and three sisters.
She is survived by one daughter, Goldie Ruppert, of West Des Moines; two sons, Earl Henry of Winterset and Donald Henry of Earlham; 11 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
