Suzanne Carla Peterson, 53, of Des Moines died April 7, 2000 of cancer at Kavanagh House in West Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 10, at the Earlham Church of Christ with Pastor Neal Hanley officiating. Burial was at Earlham Cemetery.

Suzanne Peterson was born Dec. 16, 1946, to Carl and Mary (Wehrle) Peterson of Des Moines. The family moved to Earlham in 1947. She was a 1965 graduate of Earlham Community School, where she was active in the band. She had been a security officer for Norwest Bank/Wells Fargo in Des Moines for the past 12 years. Suzanne also was a member of the Wyoming County Genealogical Society, Tunkhannock, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents and maternal grandmother.

She is survived by her parents of Earlham; a daughter, Jennifer Anne Peterson of Des Moines; a sister, Marilyn Collin-Ratliff (husband Allen) of Story City; and a granddaughter.

Suzanne Carla Peterson, 53, of Des Moines, died of cancer Friday, April 7, 2000 at Kavanagh House in West Des Moines. Services were held April 10 at the Earlham Church of Christ. Burial was in the Earlham cemetery.

Suzanne Peterson was born Dec. 16, 1946 to Carl and Mary Wehrle Peterson in Des Moines. The family moved to Earlham in 1947. She grew up in Earlham, attending Earlham Community School, graduating in 1965. She was active in the band; playing saxophone and in jazz band where she played the piano.

After living in Chicago and Boston for awhile she settled back in the Earlham and Des Moines area. She had been a security officer for Norwest Bank/Wells Fargo in Des Moines for the past 12 years. She was a member of the Wyoming County Genealogical Society in Tunkhannock, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Elizabeth Robinson Wehrle, and her grandparents, Ronald Charles and Berta Montgomery Peterson.

She is survived by her parents, Carl and Mary Peterson of Earlham; her daughter, Jennifer Anne Peterson; her granddaughter, Madeline Suzanne Kinnick; one sister, Marilyn Collin-Ratliff and her husband, Allen of Story City; nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kavanagh House in West Des Moines. Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham was in charge of arrangements.
