Wednesday, April 4, 1973Cunningham Of St. Charles Dies
Dwight D. Cunningham of St. Charles died Tuesday, March 27, at Clarke County hospital in Osceola. He was 65 years of age.
Mr. Cunningham had been a resident of St. Charles for the last 22 years. He was born at DeKalb on April 6, 1907, son of Chauncy W. and Cordelia Ferris Cunningham. He lived in Des Moines for 35 years, where he was employed by Capital City Woolen Mills, prior to moving to St. Charles.
He was married June 7, 1926, to Violet Reynolds, who survives him.
He was a member of the St. Charles Lions Club.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, Jerry W. Cunningham, and Thomas D. Cunningham, both of St. Charles; three daughters, Mrs. Edmond Carver of Des Moines, Mrs. Bill Bittner of St. Charles, and Violet C. Huth of St. Charles; a grandson; and a sister, Mrs. Cora McKeown of La Habre, Calif.
Funeral services were held Friday from the St. Charles United Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. James Wertz of Des Moines and the Rev. William Andre of St. Charles. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
