William Wayne Delmege, 88, of Winterset, died of kidney failure Aug. 9, 2002, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 12, at the Lorimor United Methodist Church with Pastors Sandy Smith and Ben Turner officiating. Burial was at Lorimor Cemetery.
William Delmege was born June 17, 1914, to William Asbury and Dora (Braman) Delmege of Dunkerton Station. On April 17, 1937, he married Naomi B. Burgan in Plattsburg, Mo. William had taught school and served as superintendent in several school districts in Iowa. He also had farmed. He had lived most of his life around the Lorimor area until moving to Winterset 20 years ago. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Lorimor, Eastern Star and Lorimor United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
He is survived by a son, Raymond W. Delmege (fiancee Debra Mott) of Des Moines; two daughters, Judith Dowler (husband Ken Huehn) of Ankeny and Cheryl Marckmann (husband Robert) of West Des Moines; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.
