Homer Deets, Winterset

Services for Homer Deets, 87, Winterset, who died January 17 at Des Moines General Hospital, were held Sat. Jan. 20, at Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Leonard Leslie officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Born June 18, 1902 in Warren Couney, he was the son of Charles and Laura Buchanan Deets. A farmer, he had lived in Madison County for 80 years. He married Hazel B. Oglesbee in Winterset on April 27, 1969.

Survivors include a son, Charles of Lorimor; a stepson, Donald Oglesbee of Frankfurt, Ind.; daughters, Amy Mae Wright of Soda Springs, Calif., and Mary C. Brower of Denison; step-daughters, Nola Sanches of Albuquerque, N.M., Evelyn Deets of Lorimor and Lois Klingbill of Estherville; a brother, Worth Deets of Des Moines; 15 grandchildren; two step-children, 33 great grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his two wives, Edna Deets and Hazel Oglesbee Deets, his parents and a sister.
