Bernard Eugene Brennan
Bernard Eugene Brennan, only child of Myrtle and Herman Brennan, was born February 14, 1930, at Stuart, Iowa, and departed this life at his home at Carlisle, Iowa, May 30, 1931. Thus his little life has covered but the brief span of 1 year 3 months and 16 days. He leaves to mourn his death his parents, also his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. McBride of Earlham and Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Brennan of Maynard, Iowa, besides a number of other relatives.
Little Bernard has suffered much by illness during his short stay here but all that loving hands could was done.
But even amid his affliction he has brought much joy and happiness into his home and among his relatives and friends which never be forgotten. His pleasant little smile and sunny disposition, made more radiant by a mass of golden curls which adored his little head, won the admiration and affection of all. His life has been a little bud sent to shed beauty and fragrance for a little while on earth and now has been called to return to the Heavenly Garden to bloom in all its fullness and to live with Jesus who says, “Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not for of such is the kingdom of Heaven.”
Funeral services were held in the Friends church Monday afternoon with the Rev. Hester officiating. Music was furnished by a trio of small girls and the pallbearers were four small boys. Burial was in the Earlham cemetery.
