Fern Davis, Van Meter

Fern R. Davis, 68, of rural Van Meter, died February 17, 1994 at the Des Moines General Hospital of a heart ailment. Services were February 20, 1994 at the First Seventh Day Adventist Church in Des Moines with burial at the Earlham cemetery.

She was born September 21, 1925 in rural Dallas County to Reuben and Christine Webb. She married Mercer V. Davis on January 16, 1946 at Superior, Iowa. She lived in the Van Meter area for 35 years and was a homemaker and a member of the First Seventh Day Adventist Church in Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Surviving relatives include her husband; three sons, Lyle of Waterford, Mich., Lynn of Lincoln, Neb., and Lynden of Van Meter; two daughters, Lynette Seymour of LaCrosse, Kan., and Lyndell Pyland of Grand River; one brother, Byron Webb of Adel and five grandchildren.
